Gene Michaels is the founder of our companies, and is the disc jockey for The Ultimate Dance Party which has been at thousands of engagements throughout Wisconsin and as far away as California.
Gene has been in the entertainment business ever since he was seven years old. His father, Arnold Smiltneck, was a well known band leader in Michigan (in the fourties and fifties) and provided Gene with the education and experience of how to satisfy an audience.
Gene started his own combo at the age of eleven and performed at many weddings, schools, community events, and even Golden Age Club dances while he attended middle school and high school. After attending college in lower Michigan, he returned to Upper Michigan and formed a very popular band, The Vikings. This band performed throughout Northern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan at many important events in the early sixties.
Gene always knew that to satisfy an audience, it's best to have a variety of music. He has the rare ability to accurately read a crowd and give them the type of music they want. Gene has trained all his associates to duplicate this unique skill.
In the mid sixties, Gene started promoting dances and concerts. What followed was a career in the music industry including the promotion of over five thousand dances and concerts. Gene has managed thousands of entertainers. He owned a recording studio, radio station, and two nightclubs. He was the manager of a supper club and he managed the grandstand and midway performances at the U.P. State Fair. There is probably no one who has had more experience in the entertainment business in Wisconsin or Upper Michigan than Gene Michaels. All this experience can be used for your benefit and will insure that your event will be the best it can be!
